Activists Push Flight Claims of Wrights' Rival
Morning Edition, December 16, 2003 · President Bush and thousands of people are gathering at Kitty Hawk, N.C., this week to commemorate the centennial of the Wright brothers' first flight. But in Connecticut, some activists are touting the claims of Gustave Whitehead, an inventor who they say flew two years earlier. NPR's Adam Hochberg reports.
